ARCAN offers design and building construction services for private developers and the government on industrial, infrastructure, commercial and residential projects. We incorporate concrete, wood frame or engineered wood structures, pre-engineered or conventional structural steel, industrial or architectural wall envelop systems and commercial roofing, and a full range of interior design and finishing.
Our resource base includes the skills and experiences to meet the challenges of working in the rigorous climate while also training and developing a local and Indigenous workforce. To achieve the goals of our Mission Statement, ARCAN maintains the motto "Building Trades for Arctic Canada".
ARCAN has grown from a small general contracting company founded in Hay River, NT in 1995 to one of the largest northern owned and operated general contractors in northern Canada and only Design Build firm registered with the NWTAA. Today ARCAN's operations spread across all 3 territories with main offices in Yellowknife and Hay River and an administration office in Okotoks, AB.
ARCAN will evolve and adapt with new technology as the municipal, territorial and federal governments continue to meet the needs of a growing population. We are involved in a unique part of our industry that leads in the development of practical design and construction practices to withstand the test of time with quality and integrity.
